Dual Sport Day

It's been stick season in Vermont for the better part of a month now, which means the summer crowds and leaf peepers have long since left and the winter warriors haven't quite arrived yet. It's nice. Route 100 is once again passable without experiencing or witnessing some form of road rage, we no longer have to wait an hour and 45 minutes for a table at our favorite restaurants and on any given day it's just you and your friends out on the trail.

It's also a great time of year for dual sport days (days when you can do two typically opposing sports in the course of one day). Think snowboarding and mountain biking.

Snow!
Martine, Clarissa and Me at Stowe. First split of the season!
In a place like Vermont, with such distinct seasons, the weather doesn't always cooperate and dual sport days are hard to come by. So when the chance presents itself you have to take advantage. This past weekend, with a few inches of fresh snow in the mountains, yet dry enough conditions in town we did just that:  a ride at Cady Hill Forest in the morning, followed by a short splitboard tour at the mountain.
